About
FRANÇOISE is a Parisian fashion brand founded by Johanna Senyk, an expert in the sector.
Originally, FRANÇOISE used various sources of deadstock fabrics from French fashion houses, as well as rare and luxurious vintage accessories.
She furthered her sustainable design vision by creating unique and evocative pieces that celebrate singular charm, fashion heritage, and the art of craftsmanship.
At a time when the world is rethinking the meaning of luxury and consumption, designer Johanna Senyk draws
on the heritage of French craftsmanship to create a collection that stands out from the fast pace of the
fashion system.
FRANÇOISE is a woman apart: she dances, loves, smokes, and drives in high heels. She can fall asleep in an evening gown and go shopping in a suit.
She is the opposite of what is expected of her. Her very essence is surprise, which is what makes her so magnetic.
Bold yet natural, elegant yet free, FRANÇOISE enjoys mixing references and blurring boundaries. She plays with genres and eras with disarming ease, embodying an irrepressible joie de vivre.
She is steeped in French culture and crafted with exceptional local expertise.
FRANÇOISE celebrates individuality, sustainability, and timeless charm.
Johanna Senyk began her career in fashion at just 17 years old. Entirely self-taught, she trained by observing and working alongside key figures in the industry, an experience that led her to collaborate with renowned designers such as Alexander McQueen, J.W. Anderson, Calvin Klein, and The Row.
Design came naturally to her, and she quickly went into business with Anthony Vaccarello. Johanna then founded and designed the Parisian fashion brand Wanda Nylon, famous for its bold identity and innovative craftsmanship. Her collections have been sold in prestigious boutiques and worn by global icons such as Bella Hadid, Kylie Jenner, Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, Emily Ratajkowski, Lana Del Rey, Taylor Swift, and even Snoop Dogg.
His work has been widely featured in leading international publications, from established fashion institutions to avant-garde independent titles, and has been sought after for major music videos and exclusive creative collaborations.
Johanna’s exceptional talent was recognized in 2016 when she won the Grand Prix at the Prix ANDAM and was also a finalist for the Prix LVMH that same year. One of the strongest acknowledgments of her influence came when one of her designs was acquired by the Fashion Museum, the Palais Galliera, marking her lasting impact on fashion history.
At a time when the world is questioning the role of luxury and consumption, Johanna Senyk remains deeply rooted in tradition, creating timeless collections that transcend the fast pace of fashion.
« You don’t come to Françoise to buy a fleeting personality, but to build your wardrobe, to collect unique pieces for life. The only secret to longevity is quality. . »
As Pierre Bergé once said to him: “You have mastered the craft perfectly, now you need to let people know.”
Taking his words to heart, Johanna continues to honor this message. Her passion for craftsmanship and expertise now drives her latest venture, FRANÇOISE, a brand that promotes sustainability and conscious design through its upcoming collections.
